ShopSabre Tool Offsets

To adjust tools in the Tool Library on ShopSabre Wincnc

Two Ways:

1. Tool Length

Effectively like re-tool heighting but with a controlled amount.

• Make tool LONGER (cut deeper):  Negative number (-.010") lengthens tool in control
• Make tool SHORTER (less deep):  Positive number (+.010") shortens tool in control
• Add to cutter width (dia): 
• Reduce cutter width (dia):

2. Height Offset: 

Used if you don't want the tool length to be changed but you want a temporary height change. Useful for a standard tool thats used in many projects.

These act in opposite of the thing they are modifying.

• Make tool SHORTER (cut shallower): Negative number (-.020") will shorten the tool length.
• Make tool LONGER (cut deeper):  Positive number (+.035") will lengthen tool in control.

When done with job, set these offsets back to zero or very visible note to next operator that tools have been offset.

*Also helpful - When you choke up a tool in the tool holder, the "tool height" number becomes larger.
